What would alien life look like?

Going strictly by the odds, alien life most probably looks something like this:

At work.

It is technically possible to travel quite fast. The space craft imagined for "Avataf" is based on an actual Rocket Scientist's work. Look up "Valkyry" on 'Atomic Rockets'. Proposed speed is something like .05 or even .5 light speed. (Been a while since a read the information) Heck, even a four or so million tonn 'Put, put' Nuclear Orion can get too something like .04 the speed of light and that's something proposed half a century ago. It just works out to how much effort humanity as a whole wants to put into going any where else.
There's a retarded one in the White House.
My general idea was that if the alien world were similar in gravity and climate to Earth's, that many of the animals wouldn't be extremely different than what we see on Earth. There would be a few structural and reproductive differences, but they'd have many of the same traits.
As for meeting them, unless aliens come to us or we send intelligent robots or something, it's unlikely that we'll meet them. To create a warp drive would be to produce so much radiation that everything in your ship, including you, would be fried. So yeah, there's that problem.
Does anyone know if the transporters on Star Trek were based on quantum entanglement theory or just pure bulldust...?

I think it was based on the theory of not having shuttlecraft eat up gobs of screen time getting characters from place to place, supported by the Tiny Budget Corollary.

This, precisely. They didn't have the budget. Playing Cluedo with my mum while I was at Uni: "You did WHAT? With WHO? WHERE???"
So, I take it that they bought red jumpers in bulk too!
