NFL 2018 Pick'em League!

Here is an example from 2016, here.  Basically it's just a extrapolation of the information given in the chart.  I suppose I could do the work for you, but I'm not really inclined.  If I find an example on the web where somebody has already done the work, I will post it.

Funny, I can read and understand Hitchens and Dawkins, but this bracket stuff is lost on me. My late friend Bob, from Australia, always had a hard time even understanding the down system, although he loved listening to me blow a gasket when my Skins blew chunks. And he knew far more about science and was an engineer.

I think I have the lay of the land. y'all correct me if I'm wrong.

this week, pick wildcard winners.

next week take the two winners of the NFC and the two winners for the AFC that I chose this week, and plug and play. say in the AFC I choose team A and B, and they rank 3 and 6, then the one ranked 3 plays the higher seed game and the one ranked six plays the lower seed game, and AFC teams play AFC teams and NFC teams play NFC teams.

the following week, then winners of the division round pair off, NFC to NFC and AFC to AFC. those winners face off the next week in the superbowl. is that right?

I'm not running the postseason pickem this year. Sorry people. Family stuff has come up.

Also due to the dropouts I'm not going to be running the pickem league next year either. I know Jorm has expressed an interest in running it though.

to clarify though, does this mean we shouldn't send you our picks? should we send them to jorm? or is this the end of it? (send no picks to anybody)

if that is the case I can gladly continue my side bet with Brain outside of this if he wants to work something out there.

The post-season is typically a separate deal from the weekly, regular season pick'em league, so you will only need to send in picks if someone decides to host a post-season pick'em league, which at this point there does not appear to be. If I decide to run the regular season pick'em league next year, which will depend somewhat on how many people are interested then, I will let people know the details a few weeks or so before the start of next season, and ask who is interested at that time. (I'll likely set a minimum, such as five people, and only run it if that many people are interested.) I don't know if you're a regular here or not, but if not, I'll do what I can to contact you then. You could help by PMing me your email so that I have it on file and can contact you that way about that time. I will not be running any post-season league, and since Tiberius has declined as well, that will only happen if someone else steps into the void to run it. Failing that, of course, people are free to kibbutz about the upcoming playoffs here.

I'm here off and on, and know Brian37 personally. if there is a pick'em next year, he'll let me know.

as for this year I too am going off the assumption that it's over unless somebody takes up the reigns and Brian wants to do it.

Brian and my side bet was that if I beat him, He has to record himself singing She thinks my Tractor's sexy by Kenny chesney and we'd put it online and share it, and if I lost, I'd have to sing an ABBA song and post and share it.

at present, based on last weeks results which I counted despite the chart not being updated I'm ahead of him by 17.

with only 11 games left he's already beaten if we continued weekly and point by point but does have a chance if we adopted the postseason thing though he'd have to basically run the tables and me screw up royally to pull it off. a reason he calls it the titanic at this point. LOL

I'm prepared to call victory now, and save us both time, unless he'd like to work out a thing on the side with a similar rules and points to what we did last year, for the post season game on the off chance he pulls a rabbit from his hat. LOL I'll leave that choice to him.
