Keep in mind --- the IRS knows how much he makes - and they don't seem to have any issues about him not paying the correct amount.


So it makes sense that he doesn't show his hand.

I wish this would work on social media, but this demand, as right as it is, was being made during his run. 

Only the House now has any practical means to force the issue. I think for news media however, it is a cycle event. Unless it gets enough traction to sell ad space, they move on.

I will say this. I don't think Trump is as invincible as as he was during his run. It is no accident that abortion has recently popped up as an issue again. The GOP/Trump/FoxNews, are getting exposed, so they keep recycling old arguments to see if something sticks as a distraction.

His refusal during his run to release his taxes should have been enough for any sane person to exclude him, even on the republican side. And I am damned sure that this same GOP would scream bloody murder if Obama was  2 years into his first term and had not released his taxes.

Can you imagine if someone working for the IRS stepped up and decided to take the bullet and leak his returns? That person would probably be in prison for the rest of their life. (Of course unless he was pardoned by a Democratic president) But can you imagine the balls that person would have to do that?

Of course there's no upside to Trump releasing his tax returns.  But it isn't about how much he makes or how much he pays in taxes.  It is more about where his income comes from, and if any of it is illegal.

 Why would they do that? It is a crime, plain and simple. I wouldn't think that they had balls. I would think that they are a stupid criminal. And you think that a Democratic president might pardon them? Why? Because the law should be this arbitrary thing that we apply in accordance with our partisan bias? We can break the law and it's OK, but if someone on the other side of the partisan divide breaks the law we throw the freaking book at them?

So if Obama or Trump for that matter, in theory, were to target you as a civilian because you spoke out against them, even if you had done nothing wrong, and a Secret Service agent or the CIA caught wind of that, you'd want them to say, "oh well, he's the president, what are you going to do"?

By your logic the leaks that lead to uncovering Nixon should not have happened.

If your argument is that Whistleblowing can get political, I'd agree with that. But not all whistileblowing is.

Even outside politics, say at a workplace. Say you observe unsafe working practices, or your boss cooking the books, do you let it happen and let others get physically or financial hurt because of power and greed,  or do you say something to stop it?

Imagine if someone under Bernie Madoff had rated him out when he first started his Ponzy scheme? 40 billion dollars would still be in the hands of his investors and not him. Where is he now? Rightfully in prison where he belongs.
