I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

They have minds and had their consciousness with them before going on with their crimes, they thought about the pain they will inflict and chose to either enjoy it or suppress it. They are not innocent, Losty. They don't deserve my prayer because they are guilty.

By your logic, you shouldn’t pray for anyone, everyone is guilty in Abrahamic religions. Everyone is a sinner and all sins apart from blasphemy are equal. Not that that matters, because you entirely missed my point. No one needs to be innocent in order to be deserving of help. I don’t believe in prayer, but when I did I always prayed for people who I thought needed it the most not people who I thought deserved it. This whole idea that someone needs to be deserving of prayer before god will help them goes against everything that most religion teaches. No one is worthy.

-as are we all, to hear the story told.  If "allah" were to punish men for their wrongdoing, he would not leave a single living creature on the earth.  We may be born in a state of fitrah, but it's not possible to maintain it in the long run, and, as with adam, when a man repents the lord will turn to him, he is, after all, the most merciful.

Don't get me wrong, I don't believe the stuff in your magic book..but I kindof expect you to, lol.

Meh, the abrahamics, anyway - but that's to be expected.  Theirs is a grift on the human guilt complex.

Prayer must be a personal thing carried out as a way of communication with God. Why wait for somebody else to do it for you if you really wanted God?

In Arabic; this is called "Shafa'ah":

I believe that you must be innocent to get an intercession, otherwise you are asking God to betray his own words and excuse a criminal.

The fitrah will stay there in the background, all what surrounds it is static that came either from the mouth of Satan or from our darker side, the problem is when somebody allows the static to cover up their fitrah -like Adam and Eve did-. We will always get static stuck to our spirits, covering our fitrah and turning us into...copied versions of Satan, but we can try our best to remove that static, and God's mercy will clean the rest.

@AtlasS33 so, you don’t ever pray for anyone?

I used to do it back in the day, but since I changed my view towards God I now think very seriously about my prayers, and either I should give them to others or not.
According to my belief, a prayer is not a spell, it's a real request to a real figure.

Now I view God as a unique, independent entity that has infinite intelligence, and has full knowledge of my current, past and future steps. Thus; I don't  pray for somebody asking God to excuse them; they have their own channel of communication with God, they shouldn't need my "Shafa'ah/pleading for mercy". Also God already knows their past, present and future too.

I try to be as obvious as I can be: here on earth we can ask favors from each other, ask each other to let go of certain constraints, but when it comes to God, this mentality must evaporate. He is an absolute figure, or so Islam had taught me.

Had a group of JoHos arrived at my place yesterday.

To their credit they left without argument when I told them I wasn't interested.

Don't get any door knockers here. Maybe the sign helps.

I should get one of those.  We've got the standard 'No Religious Solicitation' brass plaque.  It's right next to the doorbell, but gets ignored all the same.
