Is it they do remember - but figure if they drag you to church enough times, you'll get religion?

Me - I don't enjoy musicals. My sister and my SO dragged me to see Frozen when it was in the theater. I hated it. I would have fallen asleep - except the seats were too uncomfortable and the audio waaay too loud.

Now they want to drag me to The Lion King.

WTF is wrong with these people?

Don't try convincing me I will like it. I won't.

I shouldn't have to.

A friend and I are going out to do drunk karaoke again tonight.

You should hear us!

After that experience you’d welcome the simple joy of a musical.

I enjoy the Disney animated features, including some of the music. I also enjoy The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Other than that I’m not much of a fan of musicals. I turned off Into the Woods as soon as they started singing.

As an aside, try listening to Jeff Wayne’s musical version of War of the Worlds (the original Richard Burton narration, not the more recent Liam Neeson one).

Playing Cluedo with my mum while I was at Uni:

Given the choice of karaoke or dental surgery - you can put me down for a root canal.

No nitrous.

Heart

Played the cassette tapes to destruction.
Mate has the twin vinyl.
The 1998 computer game's sound track isn't too shabby either. The human side being narrated by the late Nigel Hawthorne of "Yes Minister" fame.

*Squeees happily at the fond memories*

Reminds me of Moulin Rouge. I was so utterly bored and even when I closed my eyes it still invaded my skull. I would have walked out but it was a friend's birthday treat and I didn't want to ruin it for her.

A well written musical, is a well written musical.

The musical episode of Scrubs is brilliant.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is absolutely amazing, and beautiful.

Maybe having a conversation about this with your SO other would be a good idea.
If you're frightened of dying, and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the Earth.
