At this point in 2016, who thought Trump would be the nominee?

Even Nate Silver now reckons he will be the nominee. As we learned in 2016, Nate hates Senator Sanders with a passion... so Sanders must really have a good chance. Yeah, even when they try to screw with the caucus, Bernie still won. Granted he lost the chance to build momentum, what with Pete claiming victory for the past few days, but hopefully he'll still win New Hampshire, and keep going. They just need to stay on the ball, knowing the DNC is gunning for him the whole way.

I think Pete knocked it out of the park tonight. I have been saying for months to watch out for him.
Is Joe starting to look tired to anyone else?
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.
Its not like he suddenly turned 77.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
I want to see how he does in the South before I count Joe out.

I think we are looking at the same cluster as last time. Whoever the DNC picks will leave out a favored candidate. The Dem voters will vote Dem but not straight ticket. The division will hand the election to Trump. The Republicans have shown they will hold to the party and a sitting president will not be voted against in any measure that matters.
Older people tend to vote conservative, and they also tend to be very set in their ways. They make a much easier demographic than the young people who value their differences.

My best friend and I have discussed that we (women of a certain age) tend to be quite accepting of things that others are too set in their ways to even entertain. Be cautious with how broad the brush is that you paint us old people with. We'll be needing no 'OK Boomer' response either. |
