This from the self-confessed ‘massive fan’ of the ‘Hellraiser’ series.
The point I've been making and your view (espoused in the above post) have clearly not intersected.
In the Hellraiser flicks the evildoers are utter, utter evil, SUPERNATURAL evil, without a decent humane bone in their bodies - definitively. My beef with the Scorsese treatment is that he presents abhorrent behaviour as being par for the course for humanity is so far as he cuts his ""evil" heros/protagonists" as being Joe public Johnny normal. Wolf of Wall Street? THAT'S what's so "horrific" and despicable about his style. Not all his films, true - just most I've seen.
In truth, in answer to Egodeath, I didn't have a beef with Scorcese before the Wolf of Wall Street, but after that film, which was far more disgusting to me than Human Centipede, for example, I came to see his films in a new light.

Might this be a salient detail I wonder?
