Quick question for my own edification, how many other "atheist" (or similar) forums do you know of that have a position stated in their banner? I've looked at a few and can't find any.

So we can only do it when others have done it first?

If others are not doing it there may be a good reason.

My concern is that once one specific issue is selected it may have an unintended consequence.

Don't get me wrong here, I'm not on Eddies side. Other than "Atheist" I'd rather see the banner neutral and issues addressed in threads/thread categories.

From my perspective, there’s nothing wrong with publicly showing support for an important cause.

Which important cause? Gun violence, corporations, politics, environment, immigration, health, LGBTQ, ............. the cause du jour? They are all important.

That's all I have to say.

Oh, I don’t know, maybe the cause about which this thread is in direct reference.

I now count 4 regular posters here, all donors to the site, who do not think having a second theme on the banner and/or that theme being support for BLM is a good idea.

I'm delighted to learn that you can count to 4.  Your point?

Lots of people are adverse to change, for no good reason.
