It’s been suggested to him, because he apparently has trouble remembering which bills he paid.

That is the good thing about me. My late mother was a stickler for dates, and always paid her bills first of the month. Me however, I have a stupid "Use The Force Luke" when someone asks me, "You turned off your targeting computer".
Yes I am not my mom. But 99% of the time, my paranoia of fearing getting cut off, makes me overpay or pay early.
And no, I WILL not set up autopay. I don't do anything financially online.
I like phones and in person payment. And when paying bills over the phone, I always chose human to human payment when I can. I can say, again, that voice command is getting better, and I do use it. But tap pay sucks.

Not sure how it’s set up there, all of our payees (internet, water, power, etc) send an email about ten days out saying the money will be withdrawn on a certain date, along with an image of the bill. Then, we get a thank-you-for-your-payment email with a receipt.
I think we’ve had one billing error in 15 years.

If your money is invested anywhere, in anything, you’re doing financial stuff online.

I like to see their discomfort as I glare at them.
Meh, everyone needs to eat. I never get mad at the person behind the counter, but the asshole 5 states away in a Penthouse executive office pisses me off.
Technology is faster, but it will never replace face to face empathy.
I don't want to see the "discomfort" of the low level employee I am dealing with, but I would love to face the CEOs, and ask them why they think it is fucking ok to pit me against their lowest paid employees.
I agree. I do prefer paying my bills in person.

Um yea, but between myself and the companies that hold my investments, have far more power and liability to to control my investments than if I tried to be a handyman and day trade by myself.
No, don't do anythhing financially online. I have investments that my bank manages. They do the work, not me.
Boru, you know me, not for one second would you trust me to care for your finances as a layperson. I wouldn't steal from you, but you also constantly complain about my spelling. I don't trust myself with online finances I like the risk being placed on my bank, not me.
It ultimately amounts to anything in life, some things one is good at, other things one is not good at. When it comes to finances, I am going to take low risk, and safety yield.
My bank does things online yes, I do things with my bank in person.

I don't auto pay any bill over $100. I get paperless reminders when a bill is due. Haven't missed a payment in 2-3 years.

I suppose if you crave the human interaction then dealing with a real human on the phone is the way for you to go.
Introvert that I am, I don't seek out humans in real life. Dealing with customer service reps often means making small talk...I fucking hate small talk. At least on the phone they can't see me rolling my eyes or making a shooting a pistol at my temple motion with my hand.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who does the pistol to the temple thing.
I also do it talking to my mother.

Yea but you missed two hurricanes to save me since. Ok, I admit I didn't ask for your help for subsequent hurricanes.
Did I mention my cat jumped out of the van on the event you helped me out on, when we reached the hotel almost 200 miles inland?
You kept me calm getting home. I love you for that.
But being the DUMBASS I was I let my cat out of his carrier on the ride, but when we got to the hotel, he didn't want to be left behind. So when I got out of the van, the cute little bugger, unbenounced to me, jumped out of the van in the hotel parking lot when I opened the door. So I went in, not knowing he jumped out. Lucky for me, they had a room. Because if they had not, I could have easily seen myself getting back in the van and driving off without him to find another hotel. But because I did get a room, I went back to the van to collect him, and NO CAT. So I stood in the parking lot screaming his name. And fortunately for me, a black lady took notice, I explained to her that my cat got out of the van, and shortly after, she spotted him in the bushes close to the entry.
So to me, there is nothing "auto" about life, not even technology. I am a fan of technology for sure, but just like that black lady, who kept my cat and I together. and just like you got me home. there are always some things technology can't do.

I used to walk pinnipeds back to our boat via radio, your little trip was not a challenge for me.
