Neither have I. How about you?  Some years ago, I moved every mirror in the house so I didn't have to look at the old bald fart first thing every morning. That plan was shot to hell when I had the bathroom renovated a few years go. There's now a huge mirror so I have to look look at an older, much fatter old fart. I let the mirror steam up.

Recently came across some photos taken while I did some Judo in the army. Fair dinkum, I look about 12.  I'm 178cm 5'10.5" At that time I weighed 57kg/ 126lbs. Very fit, with a deep tropical tan, which almost washed off after I got back to Oz.

I'd post them if I could work out how (from Google photos)  Any help would be appreciated.

Barbara Streisand  once said "Mine is the only industry where you get to age publicly" .Saw a recent  photo of Stevie Nicks the other day. Oh dear. You can just forget about the great beauties of the 50's, 60's and 70's-- and if anything, many of the men are worse.

Granted, I went through a couple chubby phases when my metabolism slowed down, but overall my face has aged gracefully.

After 30 years, I ran into to my first love.  Pickle me grandmother! Didn't recognise her.  She had changed, mainly in girth.  Didn't recognise her. She recognised me. She had come back to Oz from the UK for her mother's funeral. At the wake ,I was invited to visit them, "for a few months". So over I went.  What an experience. Within a week I was sooo grateful we had not married!   She was an organiser and insisted on trying tried to organise me. I began exploring the local pubs, and later went backpacking around Ireland and Scotland.

In total, I lasted 6 weeks. Overall, still a terrific holiday.  Staying with friends remains my favourite kind of holiday. Two of the best holidays I ever had were staying with friends on Salt Spring Island BC.

The best I can say about how I've aged is that I look a lot better than my grandfather, who died at my age. The beard hides quite a bit of sagging. Loose shirts hide the tits and gut. Oh dear. My last romantic entanglement was when I was 63, so it doesn't matter any more.

I didn't think the surname Maguire made sense. They changed it to Milkovich in the American version.

Just finished watching Dune 2021.

I should say first that I happen to like both the original film and the miniseries. Also read all the books Herbert wrote about Dune.

The new one is an OK film on its own merits. Production values are lavish and the acting pretty good. However, the film covers only about half of the original book. Ends just as it 's getting interesting, with a lot of things left unresolved. The film has a feel to it like an old an old serial the the local cinema. Overall, I'm pretty underwhelmed.

At this stage it isn't known if another film will be made. I guess it will depend on how well this one does.

Finished 'Maid'. I liked it though it's a little Lifetime than my usual viewing.

Now back to searching for something to watch. 'House' spoiled me with so many episodes that it filled a lot of days for me.

It's set in the in the 60s in West London. While the main characters are indeed midwives and lots of babies are delivered, there's also a lot of history and cultural references.
