Prologue
Having a pulse one moment yet not having a pulse a moment later while remaining conscious is a strange sensation.
I was certain that I was dead when the water washed over me. I cannot swim. Yes, I drowned.
I remember drowning, yet I am still alive. Well, alive in the sense that I am still moving around and speaking normally. I have no pulse, but at least I appear alive.
What a great comfort it is to be alive and hiding the fact that I am dead from everyone around me. To them, nothing has changed. For me, everything has changed.
Chapter One
I did live, entirely too long.
Can you imagine living for thirty five hundred years?
I did it, rather through a process whereby I tried to ignore humanity and its silly ideals.
All any short lived human does is fucking complain. Seriously. Life is short, but what do these idiots do? They complain, needlessly.
All I am attempting to do is make my way through immortality with ease, but people do not let that happen. They are so egotistic that they are only aware of their wants being met.
I remember a time when a want was for one's child to be healthy. Today, one's want is to annoy someone else in order to have a sandwich.
Times change, and I changed along with the times as best I could.
