Actually, the amount of genetic difference accumulated with each generation in a sexually reproducing population increase at much lower rate than increases in the length of generation span. This is because genetic difference from one generation to the next is dominated by gene recombination arising from sexual reproduction, and not either random mutation or cellular transcription errors reflected in the gametes. Sexual reproduction occurs only once for each offspring regardless of how long the generation span is.
So accumulated genetic difference tracks much more closely with generational count than with years elapsed.
but regardless of whether evolution tracks generation count or years elapsed, there is no basis to claim different human populations evolved a different amount since they diverged from a common ancestor.
as an aside, a society’s marital customers also has an effect on rate of genetic difference accumulation. For example, mutation resulting from transcription errors is plays a more important role in a society in which men have children at older age, than one in which women tend to have children at an elder age. This is because all of a woman’s gametes are present at birth and only things like cosmic rays can introduce additional mutation during her reproductive lifetime. men’s gametes, on the other hand, are the results oh repeated cellular reproduction throughout the men’s reproductive life time. in addition vulnerability to the same cosmic ray, men’s gametes also reflecte accumulated transcription error or many many generations of cellular replication within his testes during his lifetime.
