Just read an email from my daughters' school board which included this;

Based on advice from the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, and in alignment with our local public health units’ recent public statements, the ***** Board of Trustees strongly recommends that all students, staff and visitors continue to wear a mask.

Pathetic, pressuring families into masking their children when masking is awful for the development of children. The masks need to go. The province of Ontario has made the decision that we are at a point where it is no longer necessary to mandate masks, and that's that. Some clown at city hall tried to go against Ontario and reinstitute a city wide mandate for masks again, but it was voted down thankfully. There is still some sanity here, but not much.

Sounded like a strong recommendation - but idk much about canadia. Do you still have alot of mask mandates? Sort of a mixed message in thread, as even while you complain about mandates, you give examples that aren't mandates, or of mandate proposals being voted down.

Oh, yeah, those masks totally have to go. Who cares about the possibility of kids becoming carriers for this virulent illness and spreading it on to more vulnerable people, or the prospect of getting infected and still being sick months later, it's clearly just the masking that's detrimental for children's development and not potentially spreading a disease to a family member that could kill them or leave them with a 1 in 4 chance of still being sick months later, or having the same thing happen to them*! But, hey, 10 THE VIRUS MUST FLOW 20 GOTO 10, amirite?

* Note: I am aware that there are several studies that have gone into the subject of Long COVID in children. Unfortunately, they all have serious limitations, including several which deliberately leave out people with gaps in their illnesses so that if you feel well for a week and the symptoms return in full force on Day 8 (which is liable to happen in Long COVID), you no longer count. Then again, I think you've made abundantly clear that the low rates of child death and the also low but nonzero rate of complications after a vaccine (which may or may not even be caused by the jab) are the only stats you give a shit about.
