Covid 19 conspiracies dump

Fair enough. Funnily enough, my family is actually the most pro-vax in my circle. I got vaxxed. I let my underage daughter get vaxxed, and that was a decision the mother was against, but as I always tell her on these things, she doesn't get a say in these matters since I have custody. We're all vaxxed up while my child's mother is not vaxxed and neither is my best friend, nor a lot of others I know. The CDC does not recommend a vax mandate for school children, which Helios and AWTY are now trying to spin to mean that the CDC is anti-vax. I guess the definition of anti-vaxx keeps on shifting.

I kind of look at my vaccine skepticism like this. We have an unconscious person at the hospital, but they are going to be fine and wake up from it. Do the doctors remove all of their organs while they are passed out and give them to others, which can actually save multiple lives? That would be insane, right, even though technically multiple lives are worth more than that mans one life, society doesn't operate this way. This is why, even if it does cause more damage to society overall, I hold with this specific vaccine, a person should have the right to make their own decision.

My work is done here. Mission accomplished. People are now thinking for themselves rather than letting the CDC do the thinking for them. I'm a proud papa. Yes, it is evil that Helios and AWTY want millions of school children to be masked up for probably decades to come and barred from school due to vax status, but at least I got these two thinking for themselves. It's a step in the right direction.

This is something that IA should keep in mind:

The way the CDC sees it, there seems to be enough of a change in the way things are going to justify relaxing some of the standards they set up over the past couple years. This doesn’t somehow vindicate IA and his anti-vaxx bullshit. Especially when IA was saying the same thing earlier in the year (in post 710 of this very thread) when both new cases and deaths were at highs unseen since before the vaccine became readily available, and the people most vulnerable either way were the unvaccinated and he somehow saw this fact as vindicating his “do-nothing” approach to the virus.

I was not trying to vindicate my position on vaccines with the CDCs new recommendations. I was simply pointing that out to defend my stance against vaccine mandates for school children, and nothing else. Sorry if it seemed like I was making some other argument, but I wasn't.

Can you quote someone here saying the CDC and WHO are infallible? Helios and AWTY are not turning against health agencies, holding them accountable for things they could have done better is not 'turning against them'. Are you high?
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

Your tin foil hat is crooked.

I asked this person if they are anti-CDC and their response was, "I'm out". What do you think that means? I interpreted "I'm out" to mean that this person no longer supports the CDC, but I'd be glad to be corrected if I am mistaken. Also, Helios said that my position of being against mandates in school is immoral. The CDC shares my position. That, in turn, means that Helios is calling the official position of the CDC immoral.

I said that if they were using you as an ambassador, I'm out.

Since they obviously aren't using you as an official spokesperson...it's not the case.

Fair enough. If that is the case, I will believe you and apologize for getting it wrong, but my opinion stands about Helios. He said my position of being against mandates in schools is super immoral, so in turn, he must also think that the CDC is super immoral for not calling for mandates in all schools.

You're awfully confident of what other people think, given your batting average.

So when you originally read her comment, you thought she was implying literally that if the CDC hired me as their spokesperson, she would then turn against them? You honestly thought she was literally talking about the prospect of the CDC hiring me? Isn't that the most random thought ever and a really weird thing to bring up in a post? If that was what she actually meant, I doubt anyone actually got that interpretation from her post. I think most people interpreted it as her saying that the CDCs recommendations shouldn't necessarily always be followed, which has been my position all along, and would be an admittance on her part I was correct all along in my analysis that criticizing the CDC was not a dismissal of science and did not make me anti-science as was claimed. Don't act like most people on here haven't been using the same line of "the CDC knows best and we need to obey their recommendations as a society because these are the experts and we need to follow the science." Don't act like that hasn't been the line used here throughout the entire pandemic, until now, where you have the CDC not agreeing with people's preference for school mandates and the CDC recommending an end to social distancing and other restrictions in schools. Don't act like people on here haven't been in large part in support of the twitter rule that bans people for posting about things contrary to what the CDC says. I can't prove what AWTY meant with her post because I can't get into her mind, and I'll give her the benefit of the doubt, but it was absolutely sensible for me to take away from her post what I originally did.

Fauci Resigning Out of Fear of GOP Investigations: Republicans

Republicans believe Fauci is leaving government due to the possibility that the GOP will take control of the House in November.

"Dr. Fauci is conveniently resigning from his position in December before House Republicans have an opportunity to hold him accountable for destroying our country over these past three years," Republican Representative Andy Biggs of Arizona tweeted, adding that Fauci will be held accountable whether or not he remains in public office. "This guy is a coward."

Republican Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky, who has had multiple public squabbles with Fauci, pledged Monday to conduct "a full-throated investigation into the origins of the pandemic" regardless of Fauci's impending departure.

"[Fauci] will be asked to testify under oath regarding any discussions he participated in concerning the lab leak," Paul tweeted.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
