This country really is going to shit, isn't it?

Not really, my complaint is a local phenomenon. I didn't want to rent the house in the first place, though it did help pay quite a bit towards my MiL's care costs. We rented the house to one of my wife's work friends for about $1k less than the going rate, and this is what we got.

I think maybe I spoke too soon about the covid, as although the infection is long gone, it's left a persistent dry cough in it's wake, which sources suggest could last for a long time So yeah, I guess welcome to the world of 'long covid' symptoms, which seem to be just as variable as its immediate symptoms. I was originally worried about getting covid because I used to smoke very heavily, so figured I'd be particularly vulnerable to/with it, then I actually got it and was pleasantly surprised it wasn't as bad as I was expecting, but now I'm thinking maybe this is where that vulnerability shows itself in my case, in the aftermath rather than during the infection.

Dreading meeting with my ILS worker today. The condition of my apartment is embarrassing.

Despite defaulting on several credit cards in 2008-2009, I was approved for an Amazon Prime Store credit card. This will make bringing my new TV purchase and Christmas presents in under budget a breeze. Plus, if I regularly use the card for Amazon purchases, and I buy a ton of stuff from Amazon, my credit rating will steadily improve over time!

The weekends I work is basically the only time I usually find time to write during the occasional downtime on the overnight shift.

Have to pick up groceries in about an hour and a half so not really worth trying to go back to sleep. UGH.

Didn't do a lick of cleaning in the kitchen this week. That took real effort. Bought some flowers, but it's been so long that I don't have a vase. They're in a Rubbermaid pitcher.
