Decided to change my text notification sounds on my iPhone to this:





Why? Because, in 2006, David Lynch decided to add a bunch of custom ringtones to his site. Naturally, the site is no more, and even archives of the page don’t play anything. The only ones that seems to survive are this one and another of a little girl saying “my teeth are bleeding.” And even the latter one can only be found in a video from the Howard Stern Show.

After some finagling, I managed to get my iPhone to recognize it as a potential ringtone, but because of its brevity, it’s just a text notification.

The Walmart crowd really harshed on Van de Kamp's fish fillets. So I went with Gorton's.

Trying a new brand of coffee. Green Mountain breakfast blend. It's all right. Not great, but drinkable, though it's got a touch of the same funk that the Walmart coffee had, though not as pronounced. It may be my brewing. I did a manual bloom, but the water used wasn't very hot. Last night while riding the bus, I noted that the French bakery and cafe down the street is also a coffee roaster. I may have just solved my coffee problem. No more long bus rides for good coffee if so. And yesterday I had a cup of Verona blend at Starbucks. I'm not a dark roast person anymore, but this was quite good. Very well balanced for a dark roast.

Nearly gave myself a stroke attempting to figure out how to connect new JBL ear pods to my phone.

Thinking about taking a day away from making mail rings and working on a different part of the armour.

Made a couple of more coffee decisions today. I've decided to get a Baratza Encore coffee grinder. It's a little more money than a couple of different grinders from Oxo and Capresso, but it really is the least expensive grinder which does well across the entire range of fineness settings for coffee grind. And I was looking at getting a pourover rig for my afternoon cup, but it looks like an Aeropress style device is a better way to go. Pour over is cheaper, but again, for not that much more money, you go from so-so workability to consistent and reliable working.

Getting ready to hem a pair of pants my daughter left with me a couple of weeks ago. Normally I enjoy sewing. Hemming pants - not so much.

Brewing my afternoon cup of Joe. I find that following eating lunch my energy tends to dip, so I'm thinking a regular routine of a cup or two will help me regain my momentum.
