Well, it's early yet, but 2023 seems to acceptable .... so far

Hey we all want to be happy so I never miss an opportunity to wish people happy this or happy that, so happy new year!
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

And there it is. Happy days are behind us and people are back to being their miserable selves.

I would like to wish everyone a dull, uneventful 2023. I'm sure we could all do with a break.

Here's hoping you all have a more auspicious start to the new year than I. Two tires blown by a months old pothole in the middle of the freeway and a freshly paid off card getting jacked again. Fuck you CDOT.

I ended 2022 sick and started 2023 the same. I'm already over this century.

At 74, going on 75, I know how you feel.
