Hooray! My kitty entered my elevator this morning and rode from the cellar to the main floor without getting scared.

I had to get something from the attic this morning. It was cold in the attic vestibule. It's nice to see that the house isn't losing a lot of heat up the elevator shaft.

My brother came over for a brief visit yesterday. He could have come in through the back door, but instead came in through the cellar so he could use the elevator.

Actually, I checked out stair lifts before elevators. Their biggest drawback was that I couldn't use them to bring groceries from the basement up to the kitchen. I would have also had to get two of them: one for the cellar stairs and one for the stairs going up to the attic. This would have cost more than a single pneumatic elevator. They also require a lot of maintenance.

My brother came over on Saturday to pick up a bunch of stuff I was giving away that was stored in my attic. I put it all in a big cardboard box and sent it all the way down to the basement. The box fit through the elevator door with about an inch to spare. I'll probably have another box of stuff to give away soon. I'm amazed at the number of things I accumulated up there over the years.

The phones rang this afternoon, just as I was going down to the basement in my elevator. I didn't miss the call, however, because there's a phone in the cab. This thing is fantastic!

A major snowstorm will be impacting this area tomorrow evening. Over a foot of snow has been predicted, so a power outage is likely. I have to be sure I don't need anything in the basement or attic because I'll have to avoid using my home elevator during the storm.
