RE: Christopher Hitchens R.I.P.

I wish to extend a heartfelt apology to all and especially to Rokcet. As those of you with whom I've been in contact already know, there are and have been pressing concerns which have left me in a highly-charged and emotionally vulnerable position and I fear that the comments to which I (over)reacted caught me rather off guard. This is not to excuse my rudeness, however. If there was a way in which I could make amends I certainly would. For now, though, I've changed my sig to something rather less subtle. My original intention was to replace it periodically anyway, so as to present something fresh every week or so or at least whenever I remember.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

You know, I'm actually glad you said that. For the last few days I've been antsy about logging in after biting Rokcet's head off over a trivial matter. Now I realise it's probably been in my head for the most part. It's hard to keep up sometimes. Please just ignore me, I appear to have developed a rather peculiar tendency towards over-dramatisation. I must work on it.
(Incidentally, I can joke better than that!)

I just finished reading "god is Not Great", having started it just before Mr. Hitchens died. I enjoyed the book, it was an easy and pleasant read, and it made me think about just how destructive religion has been. I think it is important that we have people like Hitchens to speak out and challenge others to think critically.
We have lost a powerful voice for Atheists.
I am sorry he is gone, but I am grateful for all the great work that he has left us.

Rest in peace, Christopher Hitchens.
I'll be honest - I hasn't read one of Hitchens' books, yet. I think I'll buy Hitchens' books to honor the memory of Christopher Hitchens. Is there any recommended books for Atheists to read?
