Christopher Hitchens was truly a hero of intellectual thought. One of the best orators and civil debaters I've ever heard. He's done so much for the atheist community in terms of gaining respect and admiration. He truly will be missed. R.I.P.

A masterful writer and rhetorician, and a prophetic voice against the very worst kinds of religious ideology. I will always remember his interview with Jeremy Paxman, in which he seemed more lucid than ever. He will be sadly missed.

A brilliant video.
You are currently experiencing a lucky and very brief window of awareness, sandwiched in between two periods of timeless and utter nothingness. So why not make the most of it, and stop wasting your life away trying to convince other people that there is something else? The reality is obvious.

I am still processing the sad news, having only just learned of it. It's hard for me to feel much of anything with the more personal losses I've had to endure; however my thoughts go out to his family and friends. That all sounds a bit too harsh and clinical, so I'll add that I've always admired Mr Hitchens' style of oratory and writing, and any programme featuring him always guaranteed my attention. He will be a tough act to follow and can never be replaced. Hitch, this drink's for you.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

He definitely is a great loss.
