In Mark 6 (Jesus' visit to his hometown) it says at the end of verse 3: "And they took offence at him". This doesn't make sense. Mark 3, 31-35 (where his mother and brothers appear) needs to be inserted before this. Mark 3, 30,"For they said he has an unclean spirit" should then follow it. Also, where it says: "Is this not the carpenter, the son of Mary?" Should read: "Is this not the young child, the son of Mary?"
Carpenter in Greek is tektwn, young child is teknon. He hadn't been there since he was a child.
There are a lot of errors in the text of Mark ... some deliberate alterations ... and chunks of text have been added by someone hostile towards the original story line.
Before the end of the 2nd century ad Christians were saying that their texts had become corrupted
By the 4th century ad there were, as Eusebius said, literally hundreds of Christian sects ... many with their own versions of the texts. The Bible, as we have today, consist of those texts approved of by the Roman authorities. These texts were subjected to deliberate alterations.
