One of the town warrants in my town is to pay people born in my town $1000 to preserve the cultural values of whateverthefuck.
https://www.boston.com/news/local-news/2...ies-there/
I am half considering rising in mock support, suggesting that all new babies born in Westborough, which has no maternity hospital within town limits but does have a major thoroughfare infrastructure with hotels etc. Many births in our Patriotic city of Westborough occur in the temporary housing along state route 9 in hotels etc. These are natural born Americans, no matter where their parents came from. These young Americans, and natural born Westborough Citizens, should get $10000.00 for a head start. We should encourage all our immigrant sisters to have their kids right here in the good ole cultural Westborough! Gawd bless America!
ETA - I would also like to understand who is the umpire that decides which person is a natural born westborough cultural value whateverthefuck.

-Food aid trucks arrive in Gaza.
-Starving Palestinians swarm the trucks.
-IDF open fire on the crowd, saying they were behaving in a ‘threatening’ manner.
-The crowd panics.
-In the ensuing chaos, 100+ people killed, 700+ injured.
Fuck Israel.

...the FDA announced that grease-proofing substances containing Per and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) are no longer being sold by manufacturers for food contact use in the U.S. market. The completion of the voluntary market phase-out of these substances used on food packaging paper and paperboard, eliminates the primary source of dietary exposure to PFAS from authorized food contact uses.

While I can appreciate the value of sealing oily or greasy substances from leaking out of their packaging, I'd like to know what was used prior, if anything. Probably something just as bad. When I buy a pastrami and fries from the local "The Hat" restaurant (seldom), they are double bagged, but still the grease leaks through. I look at Tupperware askance, to be honest. Can't avoid that shit, though.

Probably wax paper, problematic at higher temps.

Oregon and spiked smoothies
No reason given yet as to why a father drugged teenage girls.

Maybe he just didn't want to deal with girls giggling until morning.

Quote:CDC relaxes guidance for COVID isolation
For the first time since 2021, the Centers for Disease Control. and Prevention has changed their recommendations about isolation for people with COVID-19, which previously was five days. The new version: stay home if you feel sick whether you tested positive or not, and come back when you're fever-free for 24 hours.
This brings COVID recommendations in line with recommendations for other common respiratory viruses such as influenza (the flu) and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).
