Elon Musk
RE: Elon Musk
^ I donate $10.00/month. I've used Wikipedia for as long as I've known it existed. If I had to give up the internet except for the choice of one thing, it would be Wikipedia.

Fuck Elon Musk. The man has lost his mind. Wacky

He comes by his influence via hereditary wealth, which explains a lot about his lack of concern for those in a worse economic situation.

I think he's a hell of a lot smarter than Trump, and a hell of a lot more dangerous at this point. He represents, to me, the Owners of This Country™ coming out of hiding to stake their claim upon it visibly -- and with him a spokesman being more appealing than the Koch brothers etc, because he's more politically savvy.

Six years ago we talked about how someone would use Trumpian tactics in a more intelligent manner. Well, here we are.

Ha, ha, it won't.

The thing with "Trumpian tactics" is that it's nothing more than greed with the cult of personality. Musk hardly has that sway over people and he already created the rift in the MAGA movement as he fell into a clash on X with Laura Loomer over visas.

Not to mention that Musk is a stupid, privileged, white billionaire who, like all billionaires, has a posse of lawyers and accountants looking for loopholes to make him get away with crimes and, thus, make him look smart.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

There's more to it than that. There's his ability to frame the narrative in simple chunks that uneducated people think they understand. There's the ability to create punchy slogans that resonate -- he's a really good adman. And there's his unpredictable nature. I think Musk is trying on some of this stuff.

Of course he doesn't have the same sway as Trump, but he does have a devoted following.

Musk is a lot of things, but "stupid" isn't one of them. We underestimated Trump in 2016 and look where we are now. If you wish to make the same mistake with Musk, go ahead. I'm a "once bitten, twice shy" kinda dude.

There’s nothing wrong with Elon Musk that having to live on $15K per year wouldn’t fix.

Continuing his efforts to shape an environment that will allow the transfer of more wealth to the rich:

Quote:Tech billionaire Elon Musk penned an op-ed further expressing support for the far-right German political party Alternative for Germany (AfD). In response, the paper’s commentary editor resigned in protest.

Musk, a close ally of President-elect Trump, wrote a guest opinion piece in the German Welt am Sonntag newspaper, Axel Springer media group’s flagship news outlet, that was released on Saturday. In it, the tech mogul touched on a variety of issues that, in his view, Germany needs to address as it near an “economic and cultural collapse.”

The Tesla CEO said he has the “right” to address the country’s political climate as he has “made significant investments” in Germany’s technological and industrial sectors.

Musk’s op-ed in the German newspaper comes just over a week ago after the SpaceX executive endorsed the far-right party, saying “Only the AfD can save Germany.” He received pushback from some current and former Congressional lawmakers, with some labeling the group as a neo-Nazi party.

“The portrayal of the AfD as right-wing extremist is clearly false, considering that Alice Weidel, the party’s leader, has a same-sex partner from Sri Lanka! Does that sound like Hitler to you? Please!” Musk wrote in his opinion piece, mentioning Weidel, a co-chair of the party.

In the op-ed, Musk argued that Germany’s economy is handicapped by regulatory overreach and bureaucracy.

“The AfD has understood that economic freedom is not just desirable, but necessary. Its approach of reducing government over-regulation, cutting taxes and deregulating the market reflects the principles that made Tesla and SpaceX successful,” Musk wrote, according to a rough translation.

The first major break between Musk and MAGA has taken place on X. The disagreement was over the H-1B immigration rule which allowed Musk himself to come to the US. He called MAGA "contemptible fools" and told them to "Go fuck yourself in the face". Hilarious He also promised to make war on them - the likes of which they can't possibly imagine.

It sounds like Trump himself is siding with Elon.

I look forward to more of these spats.
