Today I learned that I have been experiencing withdrawal symptoms from stopping Zyrtec - a daily anti-allergy med. For the past two weeks I have had the most intense, insatiable itching on my arms and back. I scratched my skin raw and finally took an antihistamine. Itching stopped within an hour. Then I put it together and looked up the withdrawal symptoms online. Yup intense and widespread itching.
I was taking the zyrtec because I have had rebound congestion from overusing nasal sprays like Afrin - basically my sinus tissues were addicted to the spray and wouldn't open without it. Going back on the zyrtec today.
