Why do conservatives insist on giving aid to Israel when it is clear they do not need it? Every Israeli citizen has health care but conservatives say either we cant afford it or it is anti-american yet we give Israel billions every year. Israel is more than capable of supporting and defending itself so why can we not spend that money on improving America?

It's not just America ...Australia is a shambles and we still give "foreign aid" to countries that don't need it.

I think we still hand money over to countries like India as a bribe to keep business coming our way as they grow exponentially and their power grows and ours dwindles.

It's the most rational explanation, or else we would be giving money to small African countries, which I'm sure happens as well, but perhaps not as much as others who don't need it.

Also I think money helps drive countries foreign policy. We pay people to be friends?

At least India is honest about it. When questioned about India receiving aid from cash strapped Britain, Indian prime minister said in effect Englands may seem to need the money more, but who are we (the indians) to refuse if they still insist on giving it to us.

But really, foreign aid is seldomly about helping the needy. But it is always about purchasing access.

They are in a strategic location that is capable of disrupting other countries quite fairly untill the u.s. can drop in. It's how our country premotes war because we wouldnt be giving isreal money to keep the peace. Isreal is a known terror state and anyone who disagree's needs to remember what happend to the palastinians. America is terrorism.
