I Am A Christain ask me a Question.

RE: I Am A Christain ask me a Question.
Fr0d0,

I meant evidence in a broader sense that would include reasoning. I'm always seeking to improve my mental model of the universe and I see religion as an obstacle to rational thought. At best I see it as a crutch to prop up lazy thinking.

I wonder what the best aproach would be for you to find non-god! Big Grin Close your mind to specious reasoning? Realize that you are probably only a christian through aculturation and the need for a quick answer?

I was really hoping that Anto would reveal his approach to god that cinched it for him but he said he forgot.

Conveinient,
Rhizo

Evidence in the broader sense still implies transferable reasoning which specifically breaks the logic of theology that belief has to be personally achievable without universal proofs.

I understand a lot of people apply scientific philosophy to their world view demanding evidence and assuming physicality in everything. I'm not talking supernatural here, just stuff we experience that's natural yet not physical.

Who says it does? Sure we discuss it a lot but ultimately we're just a community, a bunch of people with like mounded ideas on 1 or more subjects.

It is my opinion that reason and religion cannot be reconciled simply because religous belief requires faith.Faith is as unreasonable as anything and asks that you suspend your reason and take the bible and all its stories as true based on their own testimony.A true atheist is a thinker and asks why,we or at least I am not satisfied with the answer that there are things that we cannot know till we get to heaven etc. That in my eyes is not an answer, instead it seems more like a way to get around those things that can't be answered by their scriptures.
There is nothing people will not maintain when they are slaves to superstition

You believe in talking animals and people who can walk on water and rise from the dead and you reckon one of us doesn't get it? Do you not get irony at all?

I wasn´t at all satisfied by your answer Froda, but then again, you must be used to lying to yourself and avoiding the truth
