Forget the word evidence. Just take reasons.

What reasons do you have to believe?

Give me three reasons why you believe in God which are not personal experience, but something that I could study myself.

The reasons, IF VALID would BE evidence though.

I'm sick of the idea that theists think believing without evidence CAN ACTUALLY BE logical!

If you HAVE logical reasons to believe then it must count as evidence towards God's existence otherwise you are IOW believing in him with no indication whatsoever that he actually exists!!

Okay now it's my turn to make a statement or two P3RFECT. Seriously speaking imo the first thing that you would have to establish is a belief or non-belief in holy writ,in this case the bible specifically the N.T.I do not accept any book claiming to be inspired by god, transmitted to humanity by prophets or oral traditions to text as is the bible to be true or factual.

I believe that outside of the New testament the evidence for the existence of Christ is scant and dubious at best. The gnostic gospels had nothing to do with Christ and in fact predated Christ and the N.T. by more than a hundred years.Throughout your so called studies have you ever noticed how all so called holy books state the same thing about authenticity and claim that all other self proclaimed holy books or religions are false?

I am well versed in scripture but as I dont accept them as truth anymore due to its unreliable method of transmission (word of mouth),inconsistencies, contradictions etc. I feel that without the bible your arguments and beliefs fall flat.Christianity is very antagonistic towards other religions or belief systems and demands so much obedience yet provides no evidence for its claims. Also,I believe that without your holy bible or any other book of holy writ religion takes its place among mythology where it belongs considering that all religion is imo a creation of man.

Why do I need faith? Why am I going to hell for eternity for not kow-towing to an imaginary fiend?
HuhA man is born to a virgin mother, lives, dies, comes alive again and then disappears into the clouds to become his Dad. How likely is that?

Any evidence which would cause me to believe "God Exists" would first make me believe I am delusional.

Of course! But if we ask for evidence they might be shy of giving a reason if they have no evidence. I'm not asking for reasons because I expect him to give any... In the end, all I want to know, is what reason is there to believe in Christianity beyond subjective thoughts?

I doubt I'll get a reply though ha! Big Grin

I know Wink - you were being practical Big Grin

I was sticking to my principles I didn't give a shit about the practicalness of the particular situation hehe

There's a lot of religious people out there - I'm not going to bend my principles for THEM so this guy is no exception for me Tongue

I'd probably make a shit formal-debater then! My principles are more important than being effective!

I'm not going to bend my evidential ways for the religious!

I play no games! WYSISWG!

Hahahahahaha, probably a good choice.

I guess I try and see if they have anything good to say before I write them off, though this dude hasn't answered any question properly.

As for my principles, I want them to understand me as clearly as possible, so I'll try to do the same. Which simply means I take my time understanding them before making a judgement. Reminds me of Aristotle... He had a habit of asking questions so as to corner a person in a debate. In the end, the person would end up contradicting himself or refuting himself with what he said. That's my aim Big Grin
