Yup summer, you said it right. My grandparents come from a little town in Oklahoma that is in the Guiness Book of World Records for world's largest pecan pie, so pronouncing it 'incorrectly' always used to bug the hell out them. Of all the words we northerners slaughter, pecan bothered them the absolute most.
