Favorite characters, and beyond....
June 23, 2012 at 11:26 pm
(This post was last modified: June 23, 2012 at 11:27 pm by Angrboda.)
I thought of this thread to celebrate favorite characters in film, TV, and fiction, but don't let that limit anyone in their participation to only those categories. Favorite actors, performances, characters from literature, history, even mythical characters — whatever floats your boat. (I'm not starting with it, but I'm rather fond of the Chinese monkey king, Sun Wukong.)
Anyway, on to my first entry...
Detective Lennie Briscoe, Law & Order
"In his thirty-plus years on the force, detective Briscoe has seen it all. Jaded by his work and personal life ... Briscoe brings to the job a wry sense of humor, which punctuates the seriousness of investigating Manhattan's toughest homicide cases."
Lennie Briscoe was a detective on the procedural crime drama Law & Order for 12 seasons. A veteran of broadway, actor Jerry Orbach's Briscoe was a delightful and funny character. Both deadly serious, yet warmly cynical, Briscoe typically has a wise-crack or joke about the victim or circumstances of death at the close of the opening scene, with the joke usually exhibiting a very deadpan delivery while at the same time being highly "on target."
Jerry Orbach passed away in 2004. He will be missed.

I love the Law and Order shows - SVU and Criminal Intent are my faves. So along those lines:
John Munch
and
Robert Goren
And one of my favourite characters of all time:
Seth Gecko in From Dusk Till Dawn. I never really liked George Clooney before I saw him in this - I changed my tune big time after seeing him as Seth. So bad, so hard, so sexy!!
"No-one who decides that scientific evidence is not for him and that his own experience or the stories of others is the be all and end all of deciding what's true ever has the right to call people searching for reliable, repeatable evidence narrow-minded. That is hypocrisy of the most laughable kind." Derren Brown - Tricks of the Mind.

George - Dead Like Me
Perry Cox- Scrubs
Earl Hickey- My Name is Earl
Keima Katsuragi- The World Only God Knows (Manga)
This is stupid

My fav is Dilbert's sidekick Wally.
I only wish Dilbert had come out in the 70's so I could have modeled by whole career on Wally.
