If you go to church you just find it full of old and middle aged people, and some captive kids who are forced to go. I guess we're smarter than our parents generation.
What is it about America that so many people still believe in the virtually literal word of the Bible and are such strong Christians.
Do they actually teach kids science and evolution in American schools?
It makes me think either Americans are genetically stupider than other countries or their education system must be absolutely terrible.
Have you travelled to the US to make such claims, friend?
Even I, with my staunch anti-american sentiments, have not really criticized the US and the Americans in such ways that you did.
I seriously don't think that the UK is a place that you present it to be, nor that there are no young people that have belief in religion. From what I can gather, you are also home to a large number of minorities from other nations, and you have a small scale civil war based on denominational divisions in Northern Ireland. I believe you are in no position to criticize the US or the Americans on any scale, who do not have a head of the state that is a head of the church at the same time.

It isn't perhaps the best, but the greatest flaw is that education is not free. People have to pay for higher education, which is a setback for many people, I believe.

The only setback there is that these past few and current generations are too damn lazy to do the legwork. There are grants, super low interest loans that they don't have to start paying on until a year after the finish school, there is the military education benefits. There are many options, but because it doesn't come to them they don't got for it. SO that my friend is bullshit. I know because I did it and several of my friends have too. It's not because it costs, it's because they are lazy.

That is true many schools, in certain states, give free tuition to military vets and there are many federal programs to help pay for tuition, but alot of it depends on what state you live in. Europe has many countries, however, that offer free college education. Why do you feel that High School should be free, but not College?

Because Americans are greedy. No joke. Only reason I have yet to finish my degree is Im making 101k a year right now and school would keep me from doing it (since I'm in a war zone and work too many damn hours.) They seriously charge that much because they know some will pay, often times with the money given to them so they act just like our insurance companies and take advantage.

Well, super-low interest loans are still loans, friend. Who wants to start outside with a debt attached to his back? Especially in the current situation of our world where finding a job is as hard as findind a needle in a heap of hay?
Laziness is another matter, a lazy person would not choose to go to college, but there are probably those who do, and cannot due to the high costs of going to a good university in the US.

Even with budget cuts, the U.S is still spending way more on education than most or all of the mostly well-educated countries. However, I have to support Polaris on the incompetent teachers bit. It is really hard to get even a terrible teacher fired.
