Speaking as an Australian, Obama's success has already had a favourable impact on the attitudes of many Australians. People are speaking quite positively of this - I would say that to a certain extent it has begun to restore the respect that we have towards America.

I hope he isn't assassinated...
I suspect most people are optimistic about Obama and wouldn't want him assassinated but, if it did happen, I suspect the backlash would be a good deal worse than those who supported such a thing would be be expecting.
I don't know about the rest of the world but outside of the US it seems people are incredibly buoyed up by news of Obama's victory. Kyu
I think everyone in the world is happy McCain and Palin didn't get in. That would be terrible...

Whether Palin is a nice woman or not I do not know. But I DO think she is very ignorant indeed.
Considering Palin is reported to now have not known which countries are apart of the NAFTA agreement and that Africa is a CONTINENT and not a Country....we dodged a mjor bullet.
I voted for Obama, although I never doubted for a second my state (Massachusetts) would go Blue. I would love to have been out in Boston when Obama won, but I recently sprained my knee, so instead I stayed home and watched MSNBC. When it was announced that Obama won, I cried. I really really wanted him to win and I was so happy and relieved that the president I voted for won. No more Bush! It's like we can breathe a huge sigh of relief.
