Today marks day 1 of a 30 day photo challenge for me, which I will post the results of in December. Eventually the blog will also detail research, improvements, explorations, and other stuff. I may eventually do what you said. Suggestions are always helpful, of course. It stems from the need to document stuff - my IB art class in high school was incredibly into that with what amounted to a visual journal.BUWAHAHA! You've come to the Canon side.
David basically dumped his entire camera set up, with the exception of his 40lb tripod which I refused, on me. I have a Canon dslr and a film slr at my disposal now, and 4 different lenses. He's going to let me fuck with the dslr by myself, and give me hands-on lessons with the slr, as that's the one with the macro lens.

You'd lose the ability to use those pretty, pretty lenses... ;3
Stay with uuuuus. Stay with uuuuuuuuuuuus. In all seriousness, what model is the body?
450D and I can't remember what the slr is. I'll root around tomorrow with it all and let you know.
I'm very excited for you right now. Haha, I have a T3 myself. Cost me a pretty penny, but I love it. I wish I'd dropped the extra hundred for TWO additional lenses, but I was too broke/stupid to take them up on it. I'm such an idiot.

Didn't know that something being scene is a trend... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scene If it's not popular enough for a wikipedia page, it's probably not trending very well. I'm seriously considering replacing my 9 year old Nikon D70. I'm struggling with deciding between a D5100 and a D7000. The 7000 has some nice features I would like to have, but it is almost twice the price of the 5100. It looks like I'm going to be spending some time in Okinawa in the near future so I guess I'll wait until I get there and see what prices look like on the Japanese market. Plus I'll have access to the PX. You used to be able to buy electronics at an overseas PX at a considerable discount, but I don't know if that is still the case these days.

I was just looking at the 5100, actually. I think that would be a good bet.
The thing I like most about the 7000 is it is weather proof(ish). As I seem to be spending a lot of time at the beach with lots of sand and salt water mist chasing birds that seems to be a good thing. One of the problems I'm having with the D70 now is keeping it clean on the inside it that environment.
