In such households there should be guns ready to hand in every family member's room.

I actualy grow some plants, I grow my own tea: Peppermint, and have tried to grow my own green tea plant (Camellia sinensis) but failed.
I grow my own Coriander, Parsley and Oregano. And I also have my own little laurel tree, and plan to buy a little lemontree.
Doing that is something pritty hard, I am by far not an expert, but simply cherrish the posibility to grow my own tea and spices.
What I want to say is; it takes a very long time, a lot of patience and a fair amount of knowlege to aquire, to be capable to plant and grow your own food.
It would probably take a lot more knowlege and other to learn how to herd, feed, slaughter, prepare and in total manage domestic animals.

And then to farm enought to feed an entire family? With all the sidecosts which would come up?
Growing crops on a massive scale would require one to grow a monoculture (My assumption), and the best example for what can go wrong if you combine monoculture and total ignorance for less fortunate and have a very liberterian stance is probably the great irish famine of 1845-1852 following the potato blight and prime minister John Russels refusal to send goverment aid.

I think it is very dangerous to incourage these people (who probably cant eaven spell right) to take on not only a new profession of which they dont eaven know how to handel it, but also to suggest that they make their entire life depend on it. Their rejection of science and therefor of things such as biodynamic farming, would probably make things eaven worse.

But I guess no one is realy that mad to actualy take that advice from this man, I guess most just need some "help" in phrasing their ignorance.

I`m just saying, never tell someone stupid that he can achieve something without learning for it, or actualy not having any knowlege about it. Because he will try and he will fail.

I think the real problem is they're the only people buying guns, how can they be dumb when they are armed to the teeth and the smarter people aren't?

Because violence isn't going to solve anything.

And the people who can't win an argument through logic are sometimes the same people who think that "might makes right" and try to win the argument by simply silencing those who they disagree with through violence (which doesn't actually make the argument defeated of course, you've removed the arguer, not the argument). I think that violence is more likely to be a sign of stupidity than intelligence.

Agreed, DvF. And to John's other point, look where the US's use of force has gotten us so far... Sure, we could beat any country militarily, but that doesn't make others like or respect us. Internationally, we're kind of viewed as bullies or a global police force. We should use diplomatic efforts until exhaustion and only then consider using military force. I've never said I fully agree with US foreign policy, because I don't.

LOL, now cmon Min..if you wanted to be overtly tyrnnical at least admit that you wouldn't do it here (precisely because so many of us are armed). Sure, you could pull off tyranny, but you couldn't do it quite so blatantly without having a few rounds sent your way.
