Love
People tell me i dont know what love is, i dont really. How can anyone experience a feeling then know thats what love is anyway?
Somone just told me you get butterflies when youre in love, do guys really get butterflies? i thought this was just a girlish expression for being very excited i dont even really know what i means, i used to get a sort of fluttering with excitement type feeling when i was a teenager and about to do something with a girl or something wrong, like stealing or taking drugs, but i havent had butterflies in years, am i dead inside?

I think its a bit like the emperors new clothes, everyone is going around saying you know what love is like when you feel it, then when other people hear it they just say "yep ive felt love" just like religions use this when people go round saying "you know god when you feel his power" or whatever then other people feel left out so they just say "yep ive felt that" maybe im just wrong and everyone is going around feeling the power of god and the feeling of love and im just a soulless loveless monster who doesnt deserve gods attention.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

RE: Love
Love is an emotional force discovered by the Maltusians billions of year ago shortly after the universe began. Its properties align with several emotional concepts of higher attachment and familial feelings, and manifests as violet energy. When a number of the Maltusians later settled on Oa to become the Guardians of the Universe, the females of their race took issue with the notion of abandoning emotion in favour of logic, and departed to eventually settle on the planet Zamaron, where they tuned themselves to love through star sapphire crystals.
If you believe it, question it. If you question it, get an answer. If you have an answer, does that answer satisfy reality? Does it satisfy you? Probably not. For no one else will agree with you, not really.

RE: Love
I've only been in love once in my life. I am in love now, actually. I would describe it as feeling absolute devotion to that one being. A feeling so tragically deep, you'd give your life for that person. You realize you weren't whole, until you found them. Your heart is a thin glass exposed piece of fragility that you give freely and hope they don't drop itTongue If I was reading this a year ago: I'd probably gag at myself and tell me I'm an idiot. But, it's real. I can tell you it's real. Not just physiologically, you can connect to someone far deeper than that. And it's beautiful. I truly feel that there's someone out there that will love you for you right now, you just have to keep lookin. I gave up hope of ever finding that person and bam. Here I am. Talking about silly love Big Grin
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

RE: Love
In our language, "love" doesn't refer to just one thing. It can refer to the feeling a sister has for her brother, a friend has for another, a girl has for her boyfriend, or a wife has for her husband. Those are each very different things. Nearly everyone has some form of love in their lives. "True love" or a "soulmate" is hard to come by. And timing is everything.

RE: Love
An article that I read recently and it seems that now would be an oppurtune time to post it here:

Viewpoint: Down with romantic love

Quote:Love is blind, the proverb goes, though it might be more accurate to say we are being blinded by a hyper version of romantic love, and are losing out on life as a result. To cut to the chase, I think that the romantic myth is one of the most pernicious of our times.

The myth is that there is someone out there with whom your life will be complete, and conversely, without whom your life would be a half-life. A major task of modern life is, therefore, to find this person and, falling in love, to cease to be two and become one.

It is hard to prove, though I wonder whether such a view of romance has become so monstrous in the pressure it puts on couples to find fulfilment in each other, that it actually undermines more relationships than supports them.

That is just an opinion, though, but I think it might be true for some people.
