Doesn't anybody else have the sneaking suspicion that a good share of the disagreements on this forum are actually due to ambiguous terms, such as "equal" as in "identical" or "equal" as in "of equal standing"...?

Those with a reasonable mind assume as much and seek clarification where necessary. Apparently, reasonable minds are in short supply.

Bullshit. That's scientifically not possible. In fact the fastest 15 year old boys just in the United States, not in the world- are faster than the fastest women in the world, that's actually a fact. Here are the results of the Olympics 100m in 2012 finals for women: http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/olympics/...00m-finals--
And here are the times of best 15 year old boys in the US in 2012 (8TH GRADE OF BELOW):
http://www.milesplit.com/rankings/2012/o...&cn=&r=usa
Moreover, the existing world record for women 100m of all time was set by a woman called Florence Griffiths, she ran 10.49s in 1988. This record was beaten by 13 boys worldwide. Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/100_metres#Boys
So why are teenage boys able to compete (and beat) the fastest women in the world?
The science behind it is that males, on average, have a larger heart than females and so can pump more blood around the body, the oxygen consumption in Men is 20-30% higher than women. Read more about it here: http://www.livestrong.com/article/347443...men-women/
Men are also taller, and tend to have longer legs for greater strides and also have stronger bones and stronger muscles than women: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/articl...t-all.html
So in terms of physical attributes, there’s no competition between the two sexes, but then again, who even said they should compete They’re not the same.

I didnt say women are faster than the fastest men, did I? If you picked to people off the street, you have no idea what their physical fitness is. Sure, if they're both runners, the man is likely to win because male bodies are typically better for running.

It's true, we don't know the physical fitness, but on average, if you pick a 15 year old boy off the street, he's faster than most women you pit up against him, and same goes with men. It's not 50-50 at all. How can it be 50-50 when a male's bones and muscles are on average stronger and their heart is larger? How can it be 50-50 I don't get it?

If you pick a 15 year old boy off the street, he's faster than most men you pit up against him too. Teenage boys are way more physically fit and faster than most adult men.
Fuck, did I ever say it was 50-50? Why the fuck are you such a fucking retard all the time? Is it not painful?

Then why the fuck are you saying "either could win" idiot. You're giving the impression that men and women are on equal footing when they aren't. You pick a male and female off the street and the male will win almost all the time, they're not on equal footing, you cunt. Read the science, read the statistics instead of getting a hissyfit. And just to correct you: the quickest boys are not quicker than the fastest men, I used the phrase "fastest men" not "most men". so stfu

Because either could win. There's a world of difference beween 50-50 and 100-0.
And in what huge leap of "logic" converts that to women not being equal to men? So I shouldn't be allowed to vote or get whatever job I qualify for because a man can outrun me? Fuck you. What do you do, anyway? Stack shelves in Aldi?

Fuck off that's the same logic as saying a rat could win against a lion, technically that's true, it could mofo.
Yeah because I said you shouldn't be allowed to vote since men can outrun you (!) Way to create strawmen, bitch. You made an argument that was bullshit, and you got owned so suck it biatch. Men are faster than women, and on average would beat them more times.

I recognize that, that's why I use a much better application of the same idea: equal opportunity.
