Miracles and Anti-supernaturalism
RE: Miracles and Anti-supernaturalism
My bet is on the "Revelation is closed" argument.

Given how much of each of ronny's posts are pretty much straight preaching, he might go hardcore and say he'd do it, though.

Won't that be fun? Big Grin

I keep discovering that each theist member is actually a sock or poe. Are there any actual theist members on this site, or are they all socks and poes?

Please try to answer without resorting to preaching or quoting extensive bible-spam at me.

Ok! No is my simple answer.

Because God is: forgiving, merciful and loving. And that would be my answer back to Him. and if that damned my soul... sobeit!

@ronedee, that must be difficult to say for someone who believes in eternal damnation, kudos for that.

Indeed. It shows that you, ronny, like most people, are far more moral than the god you purport to worship. My faith in the future of humanity just moved up a notch.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I tried to get Statler to answer this very question, and he went the route of closed revelation, saying that this situation would never arise, therefore he needn't answer. Some people don't do well with hypotheticals. Kudos to ronedee for manning up to it.

I wish my brother-in-law had been able to give me a straight answer like that when I asked him what he would do if God demanded one of his children for a human sacrifice.

If your brother couldn't answer you straight on, it means that he's ashamed of what the answer might entail, and his inner morals are in conflict with what his god demands. You can rest assured that your brother is probably more moral than your god. I actually pointed out this very fact to SW. He never verbally conceded it, instead side-stepping with some other dogmatic bullshit of his, but he never came back to it either...I think SW thinks of himself as a good person, so he's probably more moral than his god too, even if he can't accept that.

ronedee has made Theist history today, and I think he deserves to share a few bottles of champagne with us!
