Only TOS is Star Trek.

I just finished all of the orginal series today. (The improved version) My fav out of that was season1 episode 22 'space seed' it was the KAHN! Episode.
Then followed by the wrath of Kahn.
What I did not know till last night that the undiscovered country is tied season 3 episode 75 'the way to Eden.' Even in episode 75 Spock knows a lot about mybock. Which was pretty cool.
One other cool thing I remember the jerry McGuire line 'you complete me,' was originally a line from Adonis episode 31.
Also what was the deal with Scottie 's hair in season 3? It was parted, then combed back then permed at some point?
I really like next gen. I loved the cross over episodes where one of the original crew was found In A transporter buffer, or turned up for a suprise inspection, or was being smuggled into Romulus, or being met up with in the nexus.
Fav episode of all time was when the DS9ers when back into time aboard the enterprise and served with Kirk. I would have stroked out if the next gen crew made the journey instead.
I loved all of the encarnations of ST while they were on. Some have replay value while other series do not. My fav out of all of them was enterprise. I wish they would have let that one go a little longer. It was just starting to get good and they pulled the plug.
All of that said my fav scifi series of all time? Firefly! Why? Cause they can take my love, take my land, take me where I can not stand, I don't care I'm still free they can take my God from me!
You know since this restart and the mentioning of the enterprise's 5 year mission maybe they could restart the series as well. They could tie the series into the movies or just follow the orginal time line and finish out the rest of the orginal 5 year mission (pick up where the 1968 series left off.) and just have two different versions run along side each other. kinda like the dark knight and batman, the brave and the bold.

Hate to admit it, but I'm old enough to remember watching TOS when it first came out. We LIVED for it!! I still love catching TOS episodes. TNG and the rest were ok, but none ever captured that dare-to-dream-yet-utterly-campy culture of the original. (I had a bad thing for Spock.) Favorite episode: The Trouble With Tribbles.

I watched Into Darkness on Blu-ray a few nights back. It went a bit pear shaped towards the end, but it's one I plan to add to my collection very soon. (And I adore Cumberbatch.)
The only one I haven't watched is Enterprise, largely because I don't like Bakula. Though I suppose if I can suffer through Mulgrew's wooden, lifeless acting, I can stomach Bakula. I also missed a good part of later DS9, largely because it started getting silly in later years.
Speaking of Romulus, one of my favorites was when the Romulan defects in TNG ("The Defector"). That and The Best Of Both Worlds are probably favorites, along with Balance Of Terror in TOS, and the one where Data has a child, Lal (played by the excellent Hallie Todd). Top honors have to go to the Q episodes, followed by the Borg episodes, followed by the earlier Lore episodes. Really though, it's an embarrasment of riches as I could list favorite episodes ad nauseum.
I must also say that I really like the characterizations in the new movies, especially Scotty.
Best character, Commander Data. Best moment, the eulogy for Dr. Ira Graves.

With the new O'hura? The old is way better looking. As for the new Spock and kirk, they did good, but no one can replace deforest Kelly.

I remember coming home from school everyday and Star Trek (TOS) would be on at 4:00pm on channel 4. Watched every episode again and again. Were they campy? Sure. But they were all we had back then (since VCR's were a bit of a novelty).
TNG was very good, but it jumped the shark after Roddenberry died. DS9 was the worst of all. It totally strayed from the original Star Trek ideals and became a war documentary. Voyager was good, but weak. (Seven of Nine was hot!) Enterprise was just okay at best. It started to get its legs in season 4, then they cancelled it.
The movies? Some were good, some were bad. Only a handful were great.

TNG for me. TOS was a bit too cowboys in space - "we come in peace - open fire."
However, nothing, and I mean nothing compares to Flash Gordon - the movie with the Queen soundtrack. You don't know the meaning of the word camp till you've seen that.

I'm not a fan of television series in general, so I think the movies are the only thing that don't totally suck balls.
