You think those are sure bets? The only sure bet this week is the Seahawks vs. the Bucs. I would bet my testicles on that one.

I do have cable so I cannot watch any games however I going for the Saints and Chiefs.
I would be a televangelist....but I have too much of a soul. RE: Weekly NFL Picks Thread

I was just joshin Brian, but yeah, that's a pretty good bet too. Seattle and KC are almost the same team. Great RB, outstanding Defense, mediocre quarterback play. At least Wilson is more mobile than Smith. Let's hope Percy Harvin adds a little more dimension to that offense. On second thought, the Chiefs have Dwayne Bowe, but he can't make Alex Smith a better passer...The majority of Smith's "passing" yds come from Yds after the catch thrown on screens or dump-offs to Charles. Sound familiar? (November 1, 2013 at 1:36 pm)Texas Sailor Wrote: At least Wilson is more mobile than Smith. Honestly, that's one thing that concerns me about Wilson - really, Seattle's offense in general. Yes, Wilson's got excellent mobility, and he can pick up a first down with his legs when he's got no one to pass to. Problem is, it seems like he's become a significant part of our running game, and while that works in the NCAA, in the NFL that's just begging for injuries. Also - the Rams demonstrated on Monday night that stacking 8 in the box against Seattle slows the offense way the hell down. It's one thing to have a quarterback who CAN run (hey, it's entertaining as hell), but it's another thing entirely to have one who NEEDS to. Not that I'm complaining - I love their defense and running game. RE: Weekly NFL Picks Thread

Man! It sure is refreshing to talk to a rational fan! I think you're spot on. The reliable pocket QB isn't gonna go away, the escapability is a valuable extra. Seattle's secondary is ridiculous, but if they find themselves facing a team that has a ton of weapons on offense (NO, DENVER) with a QB that can spread the ball to them (NO, DENVER) and they do what the Rams did, It may be trouble. The opposing secondary wouldn't need to be anything like Seattle's to beat them. I only say that because Golden Tate and whomever slides into Rice's spot aren't exactly a deep threat. Harvin could change things up (I'm stashing him in my Fantasy league), but if Wilson can't get him the ball consistently, then Harvin won't draw doubles.
All that being said, I really enjoy watching Seattle play. Last year, San Fran was the team I liked watching, but this year it's Seattle's division to lose. That's what I think anyway. (Like watching in addition to my Cowboys) I'm a football fan first. My being a Cowboy fan is a subset of my love for the game. ; )
Well, we're going to be facing NO for sure at home in December - that should be a game to see. One that I expect to be a very tough game, win or lose.
No doubt. New Orleans seems to be finding ways to lose the big ones here lately. Plus, didn't Seattle beat them a couple years ago? Seattle wasn't anywhere near as dangerous then as they are now, and NO is practically the same team.

Hearing people call Seattle dangerous feels a little strange, to be honest. I keep expecting them to choke any day now. 7-1 is completely uncharted territory. RE: Weekly NFL Picks Thread

We beat them in the 2010 wildcard - when we went 7-9 in the regular season. Yes, we were pretty mediocre that year.
ETA - they beat us during the same regular season in N.O. I'm glad we aren't playing them on the road this year. |
