Seems that atheists are quick to attribute our belief to anxiety over death. But when it comes to their lack of belief they insist its all about the lack of evidence rather than convincing themselves that fornication is harmless fun.

...and did you say 'pegged'?

Well, considering I became an atheist seven years before losing my virginity, and I waited in a relationship for three years until my girlfriend, who later became my wife, was ready, I'd saying the desire to fornicate played absolutely no part of it. But please, do go on sanctimoniously speculating on my motivations. It would be humorous if it wasn't so egregiously ignoratn.

This. I waited until my early twenties to have sex for the first time with someone I was in love with. I wasn't a Christian, I just wanted to wait. More recently, I didn't have sex for over a year after my ex dumped me.

Oh yeah. I'm an atheist because fornication is fun. Fuck you, Chad. I'm so sick of Christians telling me what I believe.

And I invite you to consider that it's evidence of my claim that the reverse is true; Ryan doesn't disbelieve christianity so as to sin sexually, but rather, upon disbelieving, he realized there was nothing wrong with these supposed sins in the first place.

Only he can say for sure, but I feel fairly safe in my thinking, there.

I think you need to re-read Equillax's post. You are merely assuming that his atheism is a result of his relaxed sexual attitude rather than the other way around. You're making assumptions that allow you to come to the conclusion you want.

The weird part is that you think we haven't. Like all these detailed justifications and arguments that we have spring not from thought and introspection, but from... nothing at all?

Oh, but then, this is just a dismissal to avoid even acknowledging the point, isn't it?

Still implying we haven't honestly self-reflected on our motivations?

Could you get any more condescending if you tried?

You mean the disaster of religious people? Thinking

They had forgotten their God, and began practicing religion with other nonexistant gods made of wood and stone, they wanted the sex they thought God was denying them.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Your god doesn't deny sex; he just burns people in that place you call hell for fornicating willy nilly.

So your days of soul-searching have now come to an end? To each their own. As for me I'm always looking inside, examining my motives, the source of my thoughts, and unexamined beliefs. Even beliefs of which I think I'm certain get a review once in a while.
