What is Anti-Theism?

No. I'm pretty sure that theism and anti-theism exactly balance each other out in the universe. When both are brought together, they mutually annihilate each other. Or something like that.
Pretty much, an anti-theist is someone who is an atheist and is specifically against the idea of religion/god.
As opposed to someone like myself who, while I'm an atheist, also thinks that as long as you aren't a giant, idiotic douche about it, you can believe whatever you want.

^What TJ said.
Over here, despite the majority of theists, they don't let their beliefs interfere in the community life. To me is all good, they can believe whatever they want if they are not harming anyone else. ETA: The majority are Catholics here, most of the non-practicing kind. They believe in god, but that issue doesn't come up often for conversation.
You know that feeling you get when you read one of Sleepy's posts on rape? The one where you'd like to ass rape him with a sharpened stick lubed with ghost pepper hot sauce? It's something like that.

When I met him, my boyfriend had just recently left his Mormon background and as a result of the whole queer relationship thing, was undergoing a bit of a crisis of faith. It would be easy for me to try to talk him into being an atheist but, really, I want more from him: I want him to be able to give an intelligent answer when someone asks what he believes or why he believes it. If I had my way, that's what I'd want of anyone, really; I'd probably get along better with an intelligent Christian/Muslim/Buddhist than I would an ignornt atheist.

Fuck religion. That should suffice.
I always thought of it as atheists are those who don't believe in gods, but don't care what other people believe. If you want to believe in Yahweh or other gods, then go ahead. Anti-Theists are against religion, and feel our world would be a better place if people didn't believe in gods any more than they believed in vampires or unicorns.
