RE: Windows 7 license key

I've just bought a new P.C. that comes without any OS installed. I have my Windows 7 installation DVD but can't use the original Licence Key as I'm giving the old P.C. to my son.

So, all I need is the Licence Key itself. And being a big fan of recycling it would seem a shame to let it go to waste Big Grin

If you have please P.M. me with it.

Thanks

Do this, I've done it many times.

Use the old key... install windows. When you go to activate it will fail... use the "activate over the phone" method. It will provide you with a phone # that you will need to call.

Give the automated machine the code that displays. It will then ask you "How many PC's have you installed this copy of windows on". Simply say "1".

Once it processes, it should give you an activation key and WHALLA!

I don't think it constitutes piracy to donate an unnused win 7 key. But hey Dar, if you need the vista one I'll gladly offer it to you, if you are into masochism Tongue

My media server could use that Vista key if you're willing to donate to this old cur and Dar hasn't snapped it up. (I was planning on running pirated Win 7, but free Vista works; the TV tuner I have is windows only.)
