Well, do not get me wrong, but you're not really the best of the bunch.
I can understand people who do not vote but have some sort of an ideal and follow it with both mind and body, dreaming of one day taking over the system, or abolishing it(as egoraptor suggested), but not voting, and being passive only means that not voting isn't going to change anything either.

I turned 18 just in time to vote on the last election and my entire family said I "threw away my vote". I fully believe the voting system is entirely rigged and both the candidates are supported by the same corporations, there's no difference between the two candidates and when others try to join in the debate for president, they're ousted by the media and ignored like the don't exist. (The Green Party candidate being arrested for trying to attend one of the presidential debates) This shows the level of subversive mis-information and tyrannical means to which the Democrat and Republican parties are willing to stoop too to protect their corporate sponsorship. Despite this, I used by first vote on the candidate from the Socialist Equality Party. I didn't vote for him "to win" I voted for him to make a point that I'm fed up with this two party system in America. I want all legitimate parties to have a national platform on CNN, FOX, MSNBC, and other major "news" organizations. Instead, they're just swept under the rug and ignored. Everyone likes to vote for who they think is going to win, it's not a damn game, it's the future of our country and even if it's terribly flawed and crooked, we should still use our votes to voice our opinion. Imagine if 1 million people voted for the SEP candidate? The media would be forced to look into it and see why Americans are voting for third parties so heavily.

Well, in my country, there is a third party, that has seats in the parliament, though we're slowly moving towards the two party system.
I personally think that democracy itself should be abolished, but to reach that goal, we all are in eventual need to use the democratic system.

Cnn, fox, msnbc, and whatever big news channels are a big part of the problem. None of them provide news as it actually happens, they provide news with their spin on it to push what they want people to think. The general public are basically a bunch of misinformed idiots who think they know everything that's going on, but really know very little. Then they go and vote for whoever did the best job of hiding their dirty laundry.

Well, I don't think that you ought to suppose that you know any better, in my opinion.
Even if you did, it wouldn't really matter since you are disinterested in everything related to it.

I don't know better. That's the point. That's why I don't vote. I'm not educated on the current issues or candidates. What I'm saying is that a large portion of the voting public know as much as i do. But they watch Cnn etc during the month of the election and vote based on what they're told. So me being educated and voting on who I think is actually the right candidate will be cancelled out by millions of other ignorant people who think they know who they're voting for, or the people that just vote for the incumbent because he's the guy they know.

I'm not saying this is the right way to go about it. I know it's not. I can't help how I feel though.

I personally don't think that voting in the US is a serious issue anyways. Both parties disagree on rather minor and very trivial things.
And so do the people.

I agree. But try living here and telling someone you don't vote. You might as well change your name to Osama.

I've seen non-voters demonized on a disgusting level in America. I can't stand that shit. I feel we should use our vote as a voice but if some one doesn't want to waste their time, I completely get that. At the end of the day, it's just a small way of protesting to me.
