Hey,
I'm really sorry to join a forum and post a link straight away, but I would really appreciate some help here.
I'm British, and two weeks ago British parliamentary candidate Maajid Nawaz who stands for the Liberal Democrat party tweeted a Jesus & Mo cartoon in relation to a TV debate he had been on, saying that the image did not offend him or his god - and it's important to remember this candidate is a moderate Muslim.
A few days later another Liberal Democrat candidate - Mohammed Shafiq who has Islamist links posted tweets asking to inform all Muslim organisations and "Islamic countries" - directing Urdu phrases at Pakistani associates where such "blasphemy" carries the death sentence - effectively trying to whip up a mob. Since then Maajid Nawaz has received a number of death threats and has been unable to leave his home (missing out on TV interviews as a result).

What we have here is clear case of religious fundamentalism trying to take down freedom of speech. Many people are too afraid of being called racist to stand up against this, but some are. We need to show that religion and threats do not trump freedom, we need to get Mohammed Shafiq removed from the Liberal Democrats so he no longer has a political platform to spread such hate.
There is a petition which I would be very grateful if you could sign & share as much as possible:

This is especially important as there is another Islamist petition which has over 20,000 signatures with exactly the opposite aim.
Thank you.
