Small businesses don't have any negotiation leverage with insurance companies. Large business can say, "look how much volume we're giving you, now back off on the price hikes." Small businesses have to take what they're given.
Many small business owners need to realize that our bread and butter comes from the middle class, not the top 1%. We did much better during the 90s than now. Then again, the conservative brain has trouble clearly remembering what happened more than a year ago, never mind two decades ago.

Don't ask me to explain the inner workings of my dad's brain; he sees everything the "fucking liberals" do as a personal attack on him and his business.

The conservative brain is a difficult thing to understand and it makes it hard when it's one of your relatives that possess one. My sister and I don't discuss either religion or politics, by her request. In fairness, it's a request that has probably saved me a lot of aggravation.
