Are you an atheist still afraid of Hell?

Are you an atheist still afraid of Hell?
I saw this on TTA, and I just have to repost it here.

Quote:Superstition is NOT REALITY.

Superstition is FAKE FEAR... to make you fear stuff which IS NOT REAL.

That should be enough. Just keep repeating it until it soaks in. You'll be ok.

You are welcome. Wink Shades

I'm afraid of bees. And jellyfish. And snakes. We got 'em right here.

I'm afraid of heights; since the primary defining characteristic of Hell is depth, it's the ultimate in the exact opposite of what I'm afraid of.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

You are an atheist if you don't believe in any gods.

If you are afraid of hell, you are irrational. There's nothing stopping a person from being an irrational atheist.

Nope. I have considered the idea and concluded that, if a god exists and it wants to toss me in Hell, then that god is evil and I'd rather burn for eternity than kiss its ass for eternity.
The truth is absolute. Life forms are specks of specks (...) of specks of dust in the universe.
Why settle for normal, when you can be so much more? Why settle for something, when you can have everything?

Me too on the heights thing - and its getting worse.

Last year we went on a boat around Anti-Paros and in a particularly beautiful part we anchored up and everyone started leaping over the side into the water.

Embarrassingly I froze and had to go down a ladder to the water - we're talking maybe a 10 foot drop. Thank God we live on the ground floor.
