Eg. look all around you for evidence of him. Everything which exists/ irrefutable logic of his existence attested by believers. All you can say it's that you disagree. Of you take the materialist stance, however, you deny the ability of humans to reach conclusions via logic. Logic which is founded in reality.
If it's not objectively demonstrable, then you've got nothing.
But seriously frodo, let me ask you a loaded question like your thread does...Why do you believe the universe didn't fly out of a transcendent unicorn's ass? Was it the doctrine of belief that there is no transcendent unicorn?
If the hypothetical idea of an afterlife means more to you than the objectively true reality we all share, then you deserve no respect.

If your claim is that existence is evidence for the existence of a god, you know what you have to do? Demonstrate your claim is true. The fact that there are many people that believe it to be true, does not offer a shred of evidence. No matter how many flawed, fallacious arguments you offer, they don't some how equal facts or evidence. Quote:All you can say it's that you disagree. Our disagreement is based on your, and other theists, flawed logic. Quote:Of you take the materialist stance, however, you deny the ability of humans to reach conclusions via logic. You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence. No supernatural forces. Your definition of logic is skewed by your bias.

Oh dear. Looks like we've gotten back to just pointing at things and calling them evidence. Why the fuck can Xtians not see how utterly stupid it is to do that? We have the universe, and we need an explanation for it's origin. If you claim it's God, your evidence can't just be that shit in the universe exists! Sweet Jesus!

If you're going with Plato's "justified true belief" model of knowledge, of course you can be wrong about things you know. After all, how does one ascertain what is true? By means of justification, which is the third component in Plato's theory of knowledge. Perhaps you should look up the Gettier cases, because they showcase what's wrong with trying to view knowledge like that.

So what happens when you play chess with a hobbit? The answer seems to be the same as when you play it with a pigeon.
