That sounds a bit selfish if you ask me. Why not give it to all?

Because if I am discerning and give it to people that actually deserve it, forgiveness isn't a meaningless platitude that I give to make myself feel better.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I just don't see how on earth you can throw out all the rest of the water in the tub if some is dirty. I understand that the actions were bad, and I am not trying to justify the actions. I am merely defending my Church from attack and misconceptions/ill-focus by the entire world. 9/10 people think "child abuse" when they hear the word "Catholic". Why can people not learn to move past that. Pope Francis and the Church have made it clear that to obsess with these measures and to not focus on the Truth it a problem for both Catholics and non-Catholics. That's the only hand you all have to play. I say anything and you cuss me out and allude to child abuse. What about the Sacraments, what about Doctrine? Come on.

Pretty much this. Oh yeah - and then there's the whole not turning a blind eye to monstrous behavior part.

So something, you feel, naturally led you away? It was just a dislike?

You are too much of a sheep to ever understand.

I will not even give the idea that mass produces crackers and wine turn into actual flesh and blood any of my time. It is as ridiculous as arguing about whether jellyfish have pinky toes. I will not do it.

So where did things turn south for you guys? Was it college? A bad experience? Or have you always just had a cold hate for your Creator and all that rightfully worship Him? Do you know what I think? I think you all just want to be different, to be set apart from what you know is Truth and everything involved with it because it brings about some wild sense of pride and self-accomplishment within you. Though I am likely wrong, and you will make that clear with plenty of cussing in three minutes or so.

Do not conflate hatred of the Roman Catholic paedophile ring with hatred of god.

There are lots of Christians who hate the church as much if not more than we do.

We don't hate god anymore than we hate Santa Claus.

We just have no reason to believe that such an entity exists.

Which Creator are you talking about? Here is a list of Creation Myths.

I became interested in mythology and other religions when I was a child. It didn't take long to come to the conclusion that Christianity was just mythology and no more true than anyone else's mythology.
