Ok let's see if I can't bring this thread back on track. So I've now read the second article posted by Napoléon. I found it strange that he posted an article that serves me rather than him. This is what you get especially when you read the linked article that the woman references.

This article was pretty much the ramblings of a woman who came across the confessions of a reddit rapist. The article hardly mentions that rape is not about power and control. It merely deals with the strategies of the reddit rapist. She quotes an article that she links that I read. Her quote was

After gingerly pointing out how tired and useless the refrain “rape is about power” is...

This only suggests that the rabbit hole goes deeper not that it is a false notion.

It's been long believed that rape was mainly about sex or sexual impulse since sex is the obvious act involved. But this is merely a confusion of context and motivation. Nicholas Groth's work showed this on rapist motivations:

Groth labeled each type based on the principle motivation manifested by
the rapists in that group.

The two primary and numerically largest types identified by Groth were
the “power” rapist and the “anger” rapist. The power rapist was motivated by his
need to control and dominate his victim, and inversely, to avoid being controlled
by her. The anger rapist was motivated by resentment and a general hostility
towards women, and was more prone to inflicting gratuitous violence in the
course of a rape. Not surprisingly, these types were rarely found in pure form.
Most rapists were actually blends of power and anger motivations; however, a
predominance of one or the other was often discernible.

Weakness in research in the past was due to only using the findings of incarcerated men. Now researcher have just recently figured that they can interview undetected rapists. These are rapists that rape people that they know, hence date rape. There is a larger chance of not reporting this type of rape because of the obvious implications. Nevertheless researchers have found that the perpetrators don't view themselves as rapists and are thus willing to shed light.

Many of the motivational factors that were identified in incarcerated
rapists have been shown to apply equally to undetected rapists. When compared
to men who do not rape, these undetected rapists are measurably more angry at
women, more motivated by the need to dominate and control women, more
impulsive and disinhibited in their behavior, more hyper-masculine in their
beliefs and attitudes, less empathic and more antisocial.
In the course of 20 years of interviewing these undetected rapists, in both
research and forensic settings, it has been possible for me to distill some of the
common characteristics of the modus operandi of these sex offenders. These
undetected rapists:
• are extremely adept at identifying “likely” victims, and testing prospective
victims’ boundaries;
• plan and premeditate their attacks, using sophisticated strategies to groom
their victims for attack, and to isolate them physically;
• use “instrumental” not gratuitous violence; they exhibit strong impulse
control and use only as much violence as is needed to terrify and coerce
their victims into submission;
• use psychological weapons – power, control, manipulation, and threats –
backed up by physical force, and almost never resort to weapons such as
knives or guns;
• use alcohol deliberately to render victims more vulnerable to attack, or
completely unconscious.

I'm getting the idea that you didn't read the material that you posted to me. I think you may have underestimated me by thinking that I wouldn't too. So your top two links are complete rubbish insofar as your point. They favour mine mostly . I'll be reviewing the remaining links as and when time allows.

Might be worth making a complete troll thread where everyone thinks you're serious and somehow corroborate rape crime with gun crime and say everyone should have their guns taken away because it not only causes shootings but increases the aggression in males and leads them to rape.


Now that. That would be a beautiful thread.
