Is it just me, or has Poe quality taken a nose dive in the last few years? They used to be knowledgable, provocative and imaginative. Now we must settle for predictable and drab.

So, let's recap: according to the bible, god creates the world, spends more time on it than he did for all the billions of stars and other planets in the universe, spends the majority of his creatin' time on it, in fact... and then decides that what the bible really needs is a couple verses saying "don't care about the world, it's a shit hole."

One might say that god has awful priorities when he works.

The bible says this about loving the world:

and has this to tell about serving Christ:

17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, 18 because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and receives human approval.

Spoken by the church who had no problem enjoying the fruits of the world.
They would just rather that the "flock" remain docile awaiting their rewards in the world that will come after they are dead.
