Well the universe is 13.7 billion years old. Doesn't seem particularly strange to me that something like this would be found.

according to wikipedia the earth is about 4.54 billion years old.....so that rock and the earth have been through nearly everything together hock:

IE it's meteorite,which means it came from space via who-knows-where. It's likely it has been through very different circumstances than earth.
They got the radiometric dating wrong, it's 10.000 years old at the most.
